Day:245, Words:245

It was a wonderful scene that rewarded anyone that opened the curtains early this morning. Bright sunshine and not a breath of wind. It was the sort of picture that should have been on display in the middle of July. The giveaway was the colour formation being experienced by the trees lining the valley. The autumn colours are both beautiful and a sure sign that the days are darkening. The residents within the Vassdalen valley are starting to curse the mighty mountain that now steals the sun for most of the afternoon.

A leaky window was being noisily replaced by the Polish carpenter, so it was time for this family to escape the valley of shadows and enjoy what the rest of the village has to offer. The quaint cafe 'Dattera til Larson' was bathed in sunshine and a perfect stop for coffee and cake while the kids played with the rabbits. For an hour, I felt I was in the midst of an Enid Blighton novel and expected Moonface to pull up a rickety white stool and share a toffee muffin with me.

Next stop was the harbour where we jumped into our serviceable plastic boat. We travelled to the open ocean and dropped our line for an hour. After not even a nibble, we returned to the harbour just in time to see the two teenage boys pull in their 18th fish from the jetty.

It really was a dreamy kind of day.
