Day:279, Words:279

The warmish, dry and stable autumn weather continues, making a mockery of those who jumped the gun by changing their tyres over to the spikey winter version. With the official change over date just over a week away and no snow in sight, the sound of metal scraping on the asphalt will be heard a lot in the coming weeks.

The on again, off again kiosk will soon have new owners. Unfortunately the 'MIX' kiosk has been looking a little shabby lately, mostly due to the lack of product on the nearly bare shelves. It is currently occupying a large space on the water. There are rarely more than three customers, although there is enough room for a Billy Joel concert. Although the drinks, chocolate and ice creams are more expensive, the opening hours match that of the general store 'Coop', making the shopping choice easy for the residents. It wasn't long ago that the kiosk was given the responsibility of running the post office. If it wasn't for folk sending postcards and collecting their precious packages, tumbleweeds would be rolling past like a ghost town in the old wild west.

Three respected gentleman from Øksfjord have seen the potential of the building and possibly the business. Their plan is to divide the shop, two thirds of it being offices and the remaining third being a kiosk or some sort of a souvalaki joint. They are looking for responsible and enthusiastic individuals to take over the management role of the shop. It remains uncertain whether the postal service will remain at the kiosk or if it will move back to the 'Coop' general store. Things, however, are looking up!
