A four page liftout in the local Alta newspaper was dedicated to the salmon fishing card lottery. Salmon fishing in the Alta river is so popular that only 700 fortunate fishermen receive the opportunity annually. This year, the fishing gods smiled favourably upon four joyous lads from Øksfjord, who look forward to a long season standing waist deep in an Arctic river.
