A few houses are on the market in Øksfjord. Although demand appears to outweigh supply, the prices remain at 1964 levels. The market value of houses is about a third of what it costs to build. For about $80,000 Australian, one can purchase a cosy,three bedroom, cottage with a large balcony overlooking a magical mounain lined fjord, full of whales, dolphins, eagles and  ferries.
