One of the volunteer organisations in Øksfjord arranged the annual 'Vårsleppen' today. The idea behind this event is that the Springtime is finally let loose so that everyone can celebrate the promise of warm sun, green grass and pretty flowers.

Unfortunately, the day brought a cloudy mixture of whispy rain and fat floaty snow and not a daffodil in sight. Those who braved the imperfect conditions walked and rode, answering questions along the way at different clue posts. The reward was in the form of hotdogs, cake and piping hot coffee.




The participants were generous in the purchasing of lottery tickets and the lucky winners were delighted with their prizes. Let's hope that the weather gods noticed the formailities and reward this patient village.
