Day:144, Words:144

At last the sunshine took out a map, asked for directions, switched on its G.P.S and found its way to Øksfjord. While the southern part of the country sweats, the northerners slip into gum boots and windproof jackets.

The first reindeer sighting was reported today as they make their way from the inland tundra to their summer home on the coast. Vassdalen dogs yelped in unison as the first large flock trampled freely over the road and into the scrub.

Late May is somewhat of a transitional period for those residing north of the polar circle. With body clocks in a confused state, many find themselves taking a stroll, riding a bike or climbing a mountain in the middle of the night.
